Village Singers of Lake Zurich

Another "adventure" I participate in every year is performing with The Village Singers of Lake Zurich. The first photo is of our Spring concert this weekend. The second photo is last year's Spring concert when I accompanied the men on "Thank God I'm A Country Boy," the only time I ever played banjo while wearing a tux! Photo three is my first concert with the group at Christmas of 2002.

Goodbye to Noeline!

Every week, our little group hikes or bikes in local forest preserves. Today we bid farewell to Noeline who is returning to her brand new home on Vancouver Island in her old country of Canada. In this photo she is seen with Patti and Marlene, and the next photo shows Dave, Chuck, and Len, as we hiked in Deer Grove Forest Preserve. We're going to miss you, Noeline!

Wildlife from my March 2007 trip

A seven week trip to Arizona, Texas, and Mexico provided the opportunity to capture these photos. The Road Runner posed for photos as I hiked in Big Bend National Park in Texas. The alligator was dozing in Wonderland Swamp off the Trinity River between Houston and Galveston, and the nesting Roseate Spoonbills and Great White Egrets were in the Houston Audubon Society's refuge at Smith Oaks Sanctuary. More photos from this trip can be seen at Chuck's Backpacking Bonanza in the trail projects and Elderhostel sections (look for 2007 entries.)
