Orphaned Apples

A segment of the Millennium Trail passes through the property of the old Wauconda Orchard which was sold to developers for housing subdivisions a decade ago. Most of the apple trees were dug up and sold to individuals, but 50 or so remain on the periphery of the property, and this section the trail passes through them.

Since the apples are no longer tended, this year's bumper crop are already showing signs of worms. What a waste!
