Volo Bog winter hike

We hiked 85 minutes through Volo Bog State Natural Area today despite the single digit wind chill and remaining snow/ice cover and enjoyed the stark beauty and solitude.

Unfortunately, that solitude included seeing no wildlife except for 1 squirrel.

We discovered this recently fallen tree which landed squarely on a neighboring tree stump and now hangs suspended like a teeter-totter.
