We made it...

... to Texas City, just outside Galveston, 9.5 hours and 600+ miles. The drive went beautifully, although the dozen+ police cars with "customers" on the side of I-45 through Texas was a continual reminder to carefully watch the speed limit. Tomorrow we have a breakfast with Helen (aka Goldenrod, from Houston), a friend we met through our blogs, and then it's on to Galveston to catch a ride on the Voyager of the Seas, our Royal Caribbean cruise ship for the next 8 glorious days.

A week ago, I left single digit temps in Chicago (and 21 snowfalls already this winter) and just missed Chicago's below zero stretch, and now I'm enjoying 70 degrees after dark and it will be in the 80s the next 8 days. Wonderful!

We probably won't have free Internet access on the cruise, so the next post will be in a week and will show all our adventures on the cruise (on-board ship, and ashore at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica) so check back then.
