A week on the Missouri River means ...

Paddling six hours or so...

... while sharing the magnificent sights with the others...

... and after 20 miles or so, you set up camp in a scenic location ...

... and dress in layers to cope with Montana's chilly September evenings (a fire often helps, thanks to our professional-grade fire maker, new Hampshire Jan, seated on right) ...

... and entertain the kids, 5 year old Sam up in the air and 3 year old Gator on the ground, rough-housing with daddy Greg during a lunch stop on an island ...

... and occasionally climbing a tree to rescue a young climber/explorer who got up but couldn't get back down ...

... and even relaxing on the water and simply savoring the moment, because who knows if we'll ever be here again...

... and of course, when Nature calls, one must answer...

... and to answer your next question -- this is how you answer Nature's other call.

Below is our intrepid group of distance paddlers:

Chuck, Ellen, Scott, Greg (holding Gator), Sam, Melissa, and Jan.
