Des Plaines River Trail to Cheeseland

Today we headed north and biked the northernmost segment of the Des Plaines River Trail for 14 miles through Wadsworth Prairie, Van Patten Woods, and around Sterling Lake as we reached the Wisconsin state line.

It was another picture-perfect Fall day -- 56 degrees and not a cloud in the sky --

and as a result we encountered many walkers and bikers and even 9 equestrians in four groupings, of which one is pictured here.

We even got in a bit of off-trail in.

Then we headed to Gurnee Mills Mall and enjoyed the ferocious critters at Pro Bass before grabbing a bite at Potbelly.
