"The Journey"

For the 12th year, the Village Church of Barrington offers a gift to the community -- Christmas in the Village -- a free Christmas concert of exemplary quality and noteworthy impact. This year's presentation is a musical drama featuring our drama group, our adult choir, our own orchestra augmented by 20+ professional musicians, and numerous talented members of our congregation and staff. Today was the first dress rehearsal and we men of the choir were drafted as extras in one scene, the grand caravan of the Magi.

Below is a picture of me in my costume. (I'm not a good enough actor to be an angel, so I'm a servant of the Magi -- albeit an "upper echelon" and hence well-dressed servant.)

Magi #1 (Scott) rides atop his camel, flanked by his camel drivers, Tim and Mark.

Magi #2 (Maurice) is assisted by drivers Phil and Dan. (The camels will have operators inside who will provide movement to the camels' heads, mouths, and even, I am told, some realistic "spitting.")

Magi #3 (Keith) is carried in on a throne.
