Family reunion in Florida

For the second year in a row, we were invited to visit my cousin, Trudy and her husband Ed in their beautiful retirement home in Florida. We biked together on the nearby Cape Haze Pioneer Trail, had dinner at the sumptuous Carrabba's, and also feasted twice on Trudy's delicious meals. Here we visited Englewood's downtown oceanfront park...

Then we had a real treat. Cousin Anne and her husband Ray from California, whom we haven't seen in three decades, were in town and came to visit...

We all talked endlessly, getting caught up on events of the intervening decades and reliving some of our past adventures together back when we were "kids." Below is a shot of Ray with us cousins, Anne, Chuck, and Trudy...

Ellen and I had to leave Friday morning, but not before a farewell photo at the front door. (Thanks, Ed, for being photographer for us!)

Last year our family had a real reunion party in Chicago, but of those pictured above, only Anne and Ray had been able to attend, so this mini-reunion had a special meaning for those of us who hadn't been able to attend and had missed seeing the California cousins. Thanks for hosting us all, Trudy and Ed!
