Celebrating Mom's 85th Birthday in Long Grove

Today we celebrated Mom's 85th birthday in Long Grove. Linda brought Mom and met Ellen and me at the quaint Long Grove Cafe situated beside wooded Mill pond and featuring a water fountain and colorful landscaping. We enjoyed a delicious meal and good conversation for an hour...

...and were pleasantly surprised when our waiter appeared with a complimentary (and large) slice of Turtle cheese cake for us all to share...

Then we took a leisurely stroll around Long Grove, enjoying the multitudinous landscaping beds...

...and walking through numerous stores, especially our favorites -- the Confectionery, the Apple Haus, and Lucy and Ethel's Nifty-Fifties Store...
