Last night was a magnificent evening for the final concert in the Palatine Concert Band's summer outdoor concert season and a large crowd enjoyed the music. The full moon added to the glory of the evening, though the concert venue was on the flight path of outgoing planes from O'Hare and the occasional roar of planes obscured some of the sound.
The variety of selections ranged from show tunes to television cartoon show themes to a Japanese piece and the song used at Princess Diana's memorial. And of course the obligatory closing Sousa number before the final ovation for the standing, smiling players...
Here's a photo of Scott and me...
The band gets 6 weeks off before resuming practice for their next performance. Put November 8th on your calendar and join us as the indoor season begins.
