Today I met Dave and Patti and Len and Marlene at Glacial Park in McHenry County. It was a beautiful 80+ degree day, more like July than October in Chicago, as we biked 15 miles from Glacial Park to Genoa City (Wisconsin) ...
... and as we neared Genoa City, we discovered a spur path of new gravel heading west, so we explored it as it traversed beautiful meadows and wetland areas and skirted around stands of trees. It turned out to be the Nippersink (Creek) North Branch of the Hebron Trail extension. For several years we've been hearing of a Hebron Trail out of Genoa City, but no one we talked to in that town knew anything about it. This new spur trail took us right to it, and we will return next week to explore that new trail.
Unfortunately, Len's antique Schwinn suffered another flat-attack. Fortunately, this time Len had the proper tools with him (antique wrenches?) so I was able to conduct a quick class in Changing Inner Tube 101, and we got him back onto the trail.
Then it was back to Richmond for lunch at Dog 'N Suds, where this unusual sign provided some sort of direction for cars in their Drive-Thru lane.
