Fox River Trail south from South Elgin

Yesterday we biked 10 miles on the Millennium Trail and today's 80 degree temps saw us biking nearly 20 miles on the Fox River Trail with Dave and Patti and Len and Marlene. We began at South Elgin and immediately were struck by how much green has popped out the last week or so as seen in this picture:

Here are Ellen, Patti, Marlene , and Len working their way up the half-mile steep hill alongside Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve (Kane County) just after crossing the Fox River at its big bend.

Spring is also evident in the riverfront parks in St. Charles and (below) Geneva. Numerous water fowl populated the banks of the river and we even saw 2 Orioles on the excursion.

A sumptuous Mexican lunch at RJs Deli in Geneva was a highlight of the afternoon.

(And another highlight was the ice cream at Dairy Queen on the long drive home!)
