Lake County Forest Preserve's Millennium Trail delivers a magnificent bike ride, and the recent opening of the spur trail off the Fairfield Road/Route 176 intersection further enriches that ride as it travels alongside the dog exercise area and then into and beyond the former Four Winds Gold Club. The bridge over the creek has been installed but they are still working on the approaches to the bridge. You can bypass the construction by following the old golf cart path around the pond...

... and continue all the way to Gilmer Road. Eventually, there will be an underpass to take you under Gilmer and onto a future trail segment planned for Ray Lake Farm Preserve. I also rode all the golf cart paths and discovered more beautiful scenery as seen here...

Check it out sometime!
